REGISTRATION
a. Register only thru the event’s official registration app/link
b. NO PAY, NO PLAY POLICY
c. Register as PAIR. No individual entry will be accepted
d. Only two entries are allowed per player
e. Once registered, entry fee is considered non-refundable
f. Minimum of 16 pairs per category. If this is not met, category MAY be subjected to dissolution. If for dissolution, refund will be provided.
g. Change in entry category is NOT allowed starting November 1, 2024. Changes will be subjected to the levelling and organising committee’s approval.
h. Change of partner (for any reason) may be allowed on the day of event as long as it is reported to the tournament manager before the start of the first game of the concerned category. Changes will be subjected to the levelling and organising committee’s assessment and approval.
i. The official tournament jersey will be released five (5) days prior to the scheduled event at Match Point Play Courts. Unclaimed jerseys would still be available for release during the event. The committee encourages everyone to use the jersey during the event.
LEVELING
a. A levelling committee will be established to run through all the entries and make sure that all players get a fair fighting chance.
b. It is understandable that not all players are known to the committee. With such, the committee has the right to examine the player during actual game and has the right to disqualify the player if his/her skills are significantly way beyond the level of his/her entry.
HOUSE RESTRICTIONS
a. Only players, officials and authorized personnel are allowed in the tournament area.
b. Players must wear proper sports attire and non-marking indoor shoes during the tournament. Jewelleries, watches and other accessories that may cause injuries are prohibited during the game.
c. Strictly NO smoking/ use of Vape, gambling and/or drinking alcoholic drinks inside the facility.
d. Only sealed water containers are allowed in the tournament area. Eating inside the play area is also prohibited. A designated area for eating and/or resting will be provided to all participants.
e. Using of profane words or display of bad conduct during the game is strictly prohibited. The umpire may issue two warnings to the concerned player/s. After the second warning, the umpire may terminate the game if the misdemeanour continues and give the win to the other team. Scoring for both teams will end and will be recorded as to where the game was terminated.
GAME FORMAT
STAGE 1: PRELIMINARY/ELIMINATION ROUND
The tournament will implement a SINGLE ROUND ROBIN format per bracket during the preliminary/elimination rounds. The Top 2 teams per bracket will move forward to the cross-over match for quarter finals.
STAGE 2: QUARTER FINALS
The highest ranked pairs will pick their opponent by drawing lots from the pool of ranked-2 pairs. This will determine the match up during the quarter finals. Winning team will move forward to Semi-finals and/or Finals (depending on the number of brackets).
STAGE 3: SEMIFINALS/FINALS
The winners during the quarters will proceed to the next round where they will face the other winners for the race to the championship.
INJURIES/SITUATIONS NEEDING MEDICAL ATTENTION
Cramps or any medical injuries/conditions incurred during the game will be attended to for five (5) minutes only.
After which, the player will be asked if he/she will terminate or continue the game. Once the game is terminated, the opposing team will automatically win the game.
Scoring for both teams will end and will be recorded as to where the game was terminated.
GAME RULES
a. The tournament shall follow the BWF rules and regulations. Should there be cases or situations NOT covered by the rules and regulations, the tournament manager has the right to act upon it and make the final decision to immediately address the matter.
b. An organizing committee will be established to manage the technicalities of the event.
c. Only two shuttles will be allotted per game. The umpire may provide good-quality used shuttles afterwards. The players may donate new shuttles during the game as long as it is the same brand and speed with what is being used at the time of play and with undisputed approval of the Umpire and the Opposing Team.
SCORING, TIES AND WALK-OVER
For this event, a modified scoring system shall be implemented.
a. Scoring for elimination round until Semi-Finals: 1-31 rally point, no slide.
b. Scoring for Finals: 1-35 rally point, no slide.
* In the situation of a 2-way tie, the Win-Over-The-Other rule shall be implemented.
* In case of three or more pairs have the same number of wins, ranking shall be made by the difference of scores. The team with the greatest difference shall be ranked higher.
* If two pairs are still equal even after the computation of the difference, the winner during their preliminary face off shall be considered as the higher ranked.
c. There shall be no Battle-for-Third match up. The highest losing score among the losers during the semi-finals shall be declared the bronze medalists.
d. Players will be given a five-minute grace period after the last call of the game master/umpire/announcer. If the players fail to appear on the court after the five (5) minute call time, the opposing pair will automatically be declared as the walk over winners. However, no points shall be credited to them.
